There are many charter companies, why do clients like to charter with our company? | + |
Many clients who call for information about chartering a boat or yacht don't necessarily know exactly where they want to go or what adventures or special events are available with different destinations. Because of the vast knowledge of destinations that Robert and his staff have, we have experienced most destinations that guests are asking to go to. Our specialty and expertise is in making sure we help our clients select the proper yacht, and crew, who best matches the activities and experiences our client would like to have, along with the budget they need to stay within. In doing this, we can ensure that each client experiences and enjoys the best service while creating memories that bring smiles to their faces for years to come. |
How important is the crew on different yachts? | + |
We have a fleet of some of the finest yachts, with some of the best crews found anywhere. Most people that have not chartered before, don't realize how important it is to match the client with the correct yacht, and as import, is the crew, who can make or break a clients experience. Since certain crews speak several languages, and have certain strengths, its important to match up the best crew for different clients needs. Depending on the client wish list, we may recommend certain boats over others. |
How young can a child be on a yacht? | + |
Children can be of almost any age. We have life preservers for small children (4 years of age and older) on all our yachts, but if the baby is very young, we recommend a baby life preserver which the charter guest should bring with them. We also recommend a babysitter or nanny to watch over multiple children to ensure their safety. Our crew does not babysit, though if you don't have a babysitter, we can arrange to get you one so you can enjoy your time on the water. |
Are dogs allowed on the boat? | + |
Each boat has its own rules, so when booking your charter we will find a boat that allows a dog if you want to bring yours. |
Can we smoke during our charter? | + |
Most boats do not allow smoking inside the boat. Some boats allow smoking in designated areas. When chartering with us, make sure you let us know if you need to smoke so we can find a boat where this isn't an issue. |
What is included on a DAY CHARTER, and how does that differ if we want to do a MULTIPLE DAY CHARTER. | + |
DAY CHARTERS usually include the rental of the yacht, captain, steward or stewardess, local fuel, bottled waters, soda, ice, toiletries, towels, and what ever water toys come with that particular boat. Sales tax and a customary crew tip of 15-20% of the charter price will also be an additional charge. On MULTIPLE DAY CHARTERS, the yacht and the crew are included in the pricing. All other expenses like fuel, dockage, drinks, food, etc. are not included. Where sales tax applies, that would also need to be added, as would a customary crew tip of 15-20% of the charter price. |
Can we bring our own food or alcohol, or do you supply it? | + |
On all charters, the guests can bring food and alcohol (though red wine isn't allowed on most boats). The crew can help the guests get the food and drinks from their cars, or the crew can shop for the guests with a credit card. We can also hire a chef if the boat does not have a full time chef on it. We have great chefs that can be added to almost any boat for a day or for a multiple day charter. |
What if we want a chef | + |
Many of the yachts we have come with a chef, but even if they don't, a chef can be added to almost any boat for a daily fee. Let us know if you want a chef and the type of foods you enjoy, because we have a list of great chefs, and we can try to find a chef that matches the type of food you enjoy. |
Can your yachts accommodate individuals who are kosher or have specific dietary needs or food allergies? | + |
Many of the boats in our fleet have chefs that are equipped to handle all different type of dietary needs, preferences and specialties, including, Kosher, dairy free, gluten free, sugar free, vegan, vegetarian, and the list goes on . If a specific boat does not come with a chef, we have a list of great chefs we can match your dietary needs to, as long as you make us aware of these needs when booking your time on the water. |
If a client has specific activities that they want to do while chartering one of our yachts, can we help match them up with a boat that meets those needs? | + |
The answer is yes. Certain boats in our fleet carry jet skis, underwater scooters, dive equipment, compressors, blow up slides, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing gear, tenders to pull water skiers, wakeboards, while others don't. |
Are there certain destinations that can be recommended if a client wants to do a day charter or a multiple day vacation charter? | + |
Yes, because we have been boaters in the Northeast and Southern Florida for over 40 years, we have diverse experiences and knowledge of hundreds of destinations, including destinations in Europe. |
If we charter a yacht with a chef, will the chef allow us to pick a menu for meals while we are on the yacht, and will they shop for the food needed? | + |
The answer is definitely YES for both questions, and the chef can also discuss with you what types of foods are his or her specialties. |
Why do most yachts have a maximum capacity of 12-13 passengers and others even less? | + |
The coast guard has laws in place that limit the maximum number of guests on a chartered vessel. That number will change based on the size of the boat, and the way the yacht is registered and insured. We do have access to party boats that are licensed for carrying much larger amounts of passengers, but these types of boats are designed for events like weddings, Bar mitzvahs and Bot mitzvahs, huge Corporate Parties etc. |
Does the crew need to be tipped? | + |
There are two different types of typing philosophies. In the Unites states It is customary to pre-collect a 15% gratuity when the monies for the charter are collected. Of course the guests can still tip additional money to the crew if they felt the service was exceptional. The pre-collected crew tip is given to the crew after the charter is finished. With charters out of the United States as In the Caribbean or Europe, tips of 15-20% are not pre-collected and are given directly to the crew in cash when the charter is finished. |
Where do I go on my yacht charter? | + |
Your yacht specialist will work with you and the captain to plan out an itinerary that is perfect for your occasion. |
What do I need to bring with me? | + |
All the essentials will be waiting for you once you step foot on your yacht. If you have something specific you’d like to bring, feel free. However, we recommend packing light. You’ll usually want to bring bathing suits, sunglasses, boating shoes or athletic shoes, and other appropriate clothing for your event. If you’re planning to visit any islands outside of your home country, please remember to bring your passport and visas (if required). If you are boating in American waters and not an American citizen, please remember to bring your passport with you. It is required by law, and in the event that you encounter the US Coast Guard, they will ask you to show it immediately. If you are a US citizen, then you’ll need to have a valid driver’s license or any other government-issued ID. |
If a boat doesn't have a jet ski, and this is a deal breaker, what can be done? | + |
There are several companies that we can call that will bring a jet ski to the boat that you pick. You can rent the jet skis for anywhere from 1 hour to several hours. The fee varies from $150-$175 per hour. |

Is there any age required to charter a yacht with you? | + |
When it comes to chartering a yacht, there are no age restrictions, but every passenger needs to be able to follow all the safety precautions and instruction given by the crew. If young children come along for a charter, the parents are responsible to keep them safe. The crew does not babysit, and if a babysitter is needed for young children, please advice us in advance if you will bring your own babysitter or if you would like us to hire one to be paid by the guest requesting such. The crew will do their best to provide a safe and pleasurable trip for all passengers, of all ages. |
